About me
Shawn is passionate about data, it's transformation, integrity and power. Having been an IBM developer for over 20 years he's had the pleasure of architecting products spanning the gamut of data repository types from ACID relational to eventually consistent destinations.
Shawn's relational database experience includes having worked on the releases of Db2 as early as Version 6 and having owned the development Db2 LUW Backup And Restore component.
Once lured to the dark-side of heterogeneous data replication for the IBM IIDR CDC Product, he designed the Kafka Streaming Data Platform target and built a ubiquitously used proprietary technology that applied ACID relational database semantics to the chaos of eventually consistent streaming replication. Most Recently Shawn has been set to the task of developing a technology for bridging the inherent impedance mismatch between DB2 OLTP workloads and applying them in real time to the bulk apply preferring WatsonX Data lake house target.
