About me
Greg is an experienced Database Specialist with a demonstrated history of working on Mainframe technology for 34 years in one of the largest mainframe shops in the United States. During his career his roles included Application Programming in COBOL and PL/1, IMS DBA, Db2 DBA, as well as Product Support for Db2 z/OS, Db2 Analytic Accelerator and Guardium for z/OS. He also provided leadership in the mainframe space by being a member of the Mainframe Architecture Team where he led many product evaluations and drove several infrastructure optimization efforts.
Greg has been recognized for his contributions to the Mainframe by being a 7 year IBM Champion and IBM Gold Consultant. He has spoken frequently at IBM Conferences as well as Regional Db2 User Groups and zCouncil events, and has been very active working with IBM and other Mainframe vendors on product enhancements, many of which he submitted as Requirements/Ideas. He has been very active in recruiting and talking with Universities to share with students what the true value of the Mainframe is, and sharing many of the newer technologies that are available and being actively used to modernize the platform.
